Betting on the Florida State Seminoles (-21)

No. 18 Florida State placed a huge smile on Jimbo Fisher’s face after its blowout victory, 45-7, against Boston College last weekend.

It was the Seminoles’ most complete game of the season without a doubt. They were locked-on from the very start, finding the end zone on their first two drives to finish the first period with a 14-0 lead.  Prior to this game, the team has been outscored in the opening quarter by 31-3 in the last five contests.

Dalvin Cook and Deondre Francois were the main protagonists of the ‘Noles offensive assault. Cook asserted his presence on the ground, finishing with 108 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown. Francois, on the other hand, inflicted havoc through the air, tying a season-high of three touchdown passes and had zero interceptions.

Two of those scoring passes fell in the hands of sophomore wideout Auden Tate, who led Florida State with 101 yards on six catches—his best performance of the season.

The Seminoles are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in their past five road games.

Betting on the Syracuse Orange (+21)

An upset is almost out of the question for the stumbling Orange, who were handed their second straight loss after falling to NC State last Saturday, 35-20. But maybe—just maybe—we could witness one if quarterback Eric Dungey gets cleared to play.

Dungey sustained an injury in the game versus Clemson, causing him to miss the following game with the Wolfpack. The sophomore is third in the ACC and No. 16 overall in passing yards (2,679). He was sorely missed last week, as the Syracuse offense only managed 218 yards, including 28 yards on the ground.

If Dungey doesn’t suit up, though, then the ‘Cuse will have to trust the arms of Zack Mahoney again. He completed 13 of his 24 passes for 190 yards with one TD and an interception against NC State.

Also, the Orange defense is a glaring concern. They’re allowing 471.5 total yards and 34.2 points per game this season. That kind of defense is incapable of beating Florida State, which is pretty much averaging the same amount of offensive yards and points.
