NBA News & Predictions

Betting on the Denver Nuggets (14-22)

The L’s just keep on coming for the Nuggets, who failed to end a four-game losing streak on Thursday, as they succumbed to San Antonio at home, 127-99.

Denver’s defense has been plain rotten to say the least, especially lately. The Nuggets have allowed at least 120 points in each of their last four games. They have the offense to give any opposing team a run for its money, as Denver is averaging 108.3 points per game, fifth best in the league.

Rebounding and cutting down on errors will be key factors for Denver. Denver lost to OKC in the first meeting on November 25, 132-129, but not grabbed 63 rebounds, including 12 on the offensive glass. Speaking of offensive rebounding, Denver had 20 second-chance points while OKC had 12.

Wilson Chandler led the Nuggets in that game with 32 points, while Jameer Nelson had 21 markers.

Denver is 2-2 ATS in its last four against OKC.

Betting on the Oklahoma City Thunder (21-16)

Russell Westbrook was a walking nightmare for the Nuggets the last time OKC faced Denver. Westbrook churned out a triple-double in the most recent encounter with Denver and he’ll be looking to lead his team again later tonight, when the Thunder look to stop a three-game skid. The Thunder are 3-1 ATS in their last four home games overall.

At this point of the season, it’s almost a dead giveaway that Westbrook will produce monster stats on any given night. After scoring 49 points in a 118-116 road loss to Houston on Thursday, Westbrook should be able to jack lots of shots again versus Denver’s defense that ranks among the worst in the league, allowing 110.5 points per game.

The Thunder will also look to duplicate their feat on the open court the last time out against Denver. Westbrook and company had 21 fastbreak points in that game as against to just 13 by the Nuggets.

Writer’s Prediction

Oklahoma City wins, 118-114.
