Betting on the Philadelphia 76ers (26-44)
Point Spread: +11
The Sixers are coming off a road loss, in Orlando on Monday night, but that won’t change the fact that they’re playing with a lot of heart and passion right now.
They’ve won three of their last five games, including a two-point loss at Golden State and a 105-99 victory over the Celtics. Phily’s offense has also accumulated at least 100 points in each of its past seven contests—a stretch in which Dario Saric’s led the charge with 21.2 PPG.
The offense has been clicking, but the defense remains enigmatic, ranking 23rd in the league in points allowed per game (107.6). The Sixers need to tighten things up here, especially in containing the leading scorer in the NBA—Russell Westbrook.
Philadelphia is 0-10 SU and 4-6 ATS in its last 10 meetings with OKC.
Betting on the Oklahoma City Thunder (40-30)
Point Spread: -11
Russell Westbrook had one of those rare, forgettable nights during Monday night’s embarrassing loss to Golden State, 111-95. He was just 4-of-16 from the field, finishing with 15 points, eight rebounds; seven assists and five turnovers.
This matchup against Philadelphia, however, is bound to be a different story, one that will likely lead to another triple-double from Westbrook and a Thunder victory. He boasts a league-leading 34 triple-doubles this season, and his team carries a .823 win percentage every time he posts one.
Westbrook tallied 32 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists to lead the Thunder to a 103-87 victory in the first meeting with Philadelphia this season. And prior to the loss the Warriors, they’ve won their previous five contests (5-0 ATS).
Writer’s Prediction
OKC (-11) wins and covers, and Westbrook punches in his 35th triple-double.
