It’s the first week of the new year and that means NFL Wild Card Weekend is among us. Few experts would have predicted the match-ups to follow, as evidenced by the early playoff picks and predictions dropped at the beginning of the 2017-18 NFL football season. That being said, all of the following four games are proving to be a great interest to bettors.
NFL Football Wild Card Weekend Games and Picks for the 2017-18 Season Playoffs
1. Tennessee Titans (+9) vs Kansas City Chiefs (-9) : Saturday Jan 6 (4:35 PM EST)
Titans Upset Chiefs – Marcus Mariota squeaked the Tennessee Titans’ way into the NFL playoffs against the schizophrenic Kansas City Chiefs for the first game of Wild Card Weekend schedule. The TopBet News writer covering this game likes the 9-point underdog in a surprise upset over the Chiefs and insists there is some serious money to be made if you bet accordingly. 2. Atlanta Falcons (+6.5) vs Los Angeles Rams (-6.5) : Saturday Jan 6 (8:15 PM EST)
Rams Win and Cover – The Los Angeles Rams haven’t been in the playoffs for 13-years (back in the STL days) so what makes them think that they can give the Atlanta Falcons (who played in last year’s Super Bowl) a run for the money? Two names – Todd Gurley (RB) and Jared Goff (QB) and the fact that the Falcons no longer have offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. View full Falcons vs Rams analysis.
3. Carolina Panthers (+6.5) vs New Orleans Saints (-6.5) – Sunday Jan 7 (4:45 PM EST)
Saints Win and Cover – The New Orleans Saints have been the achilles heel (paw?) for the Panthers this season and for Carolina to get the win they have to change their ways, which is too much to ask on short notice. The Saints on the other hand, have to simply keep doing what they’ve been doing this season, and they most likely will. View full Panthers vs Saints analysis.
4. Buffalo Bills (+7.5) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (-7.5) : Sunday Jan 7 (1:05 PM EST)
Jaguars Win and Cover – Another win and cover? You bet (literally), because even though running back LeSean McCoy may play on Sunday, he’ll be playing through the Week 17 ankle injury, no matter how much he tries to downplay the pain in press. We were excited to see the Bills progress through the playoffs but it looks like the buck (Buffalo) stops here. View full Bills vs Jaguars analysis.
