The No. 10 North Carolina Tar Heels got their resume dirtied with an 80-69 road loss to the unranked Virginia Tech Hokies on Monday, but they can pick up the pieces this Saturday when they welcome the NC State Wolfpack at home. The Wolfpack have already beaten No. 2 Duke and No. 19 Clemson this month, so don’t expect Kevin Keatts’ team to melt under the bright light of Chapel Hill. Register to bet and wager with your pick.

Betting on the NC State Wolfpack (13-7)
If the Tar Heels wants Saturdays’ game to be a firefight, let them know that the Wolfpack have the weaponry to make it one. The Wolfpack are averaging 80.8 points per game. Even sturdy defenses have a tough time containing Allerik Freeman, Omer Yurtseven, and the rest of NC State. Although the Wolfpack lost to No. 25 Miami last Sunday, 86-81, they still put close to 20 points more than what the Hurricanes’ 11th-ranked defense allow opponents to get every game. North Carolina does not possess the same quality of defense like that of Miami so expect the Wolfpack to have a field day scoring in Chapel Hill. NC State recently outgunned No. 2 Duke in a shootout during a 96-85 win at home on Jan. 6, a game that NC State could duplicate this Saturday. Freeman and Yurtseven lead the team with 13.8 and 13.6 points per game, respectively, with the latter exploding for 28 points in the Miami game.
NC State is 2-1 ATS in its last three visits to Dean Smith Center.
Betting on the North Carolina Tar Heels (16-5)
The Tar Heels just don’t seem to be a team that likes to hustle. That weakness on their part was highlighted Monday when No. 10 North Carolina got outworked by Virginia Tech in an 80-69 road loss. The Tar Heels turned the ball over 13 times and were outscored by the Hokies off of those errors, 11-2. They were also beaten on the glass, 36-35. Worse, apart from Joel Berry II and Luke Maye, no other Tar Heel scored more than five points. Berry and Maye did the heavy lifting with23 points apiece. Perhaps a return to Chapel Hill will take the Tar Heels out of their funk. North Carolina is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in their last four games overall against the Wolfpack. Despite the tar Heels’ lackadaisical effort against Virginia Tech, the Hokies could have caught the North Carolina on a bad night. The Tar Heels are fourth in the ACC with 82.7 points per game and first in rebounds with 46.7.
Writer’s Prediction:
North Carolina gets back in the win column with an 85-81 victory.
