Arizona Cardinals quarterback Sam Bradford could be sweating bullets over the prospect of facing his former team and its loaded defense next Sunday. But will the Cards be able to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the new NFL season? Or will the Rams punish the Cardinals at home?
The Cardinals have the longest odds to win the NFC West division with a price of +3,500. Standing directly to them on the other end of the spectrum are the Rams, who are the favorites to top the group with a -425 odds.

Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (0-1)
Not much is expected of the Cardinals ahead of the season, so it’s not exactly a mind-blowing event when they were crushed last week by the Washington Redskins at home, 24-6. Still, it could’ve gone better for the Cards if they were able to avoid shooting themselves in the foot with two turnovers. One was an interception thrown by Sam Bradford while the other was a lost fumble by the quarterback himself. The Cards’ defense showed some teeth by sacking Alex Smith three times, but Arizona had no answer to Adrian Peterson and the Redskins’ backfield, which compiled 182 yards. New Cards head coach Steve Wilks called his team’s defense against the run in that game “unacceptable,” and he’ll probably have to find other ways to say based on the outlook for Arizona in the coming weeks.
The Cardinals are 3-2 ATS in their last five games in which they were underdogs by at least 12 points.
Betting on the Los Angeles Rams (1-0)
The Rams let the Oakland Raiders keep in step with them in the first half of last Monday’s matchup before leaving them in the dust in the second half, as Todd Gurley and company cruised to a 33-13 win to spoil the head coaching comeback of Jon Gruden. Gurley was a one-man demolition crew, as the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year ran circles around Oakland’s defense for 108 rushing yards on 20 carries. In addition to that, the former Georgia star also had three receptions for 39 receiving yards and a touchdown. The Rams’ defense, meanwhile, was relentless, as LA picked off Raiders quarterback Derek Carr three times and sacked him once. Los Angeles’ stacked offense is a serious threat not only to the Cardinals’ offense but also to Sam Bradford’s feeble body, as Arizona’s quarterback will have to deal with Aaron Donald and company.
The Rams are 3-1 ATS in their last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Los Angeles wins, 34-17.
