Both the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions are playing catch up to the Chicago Bears in the NFC North, which is also why this coming Sunday’s meeting between the two teams can be a turning point in the divisional race. Will the Packers conquer Detroit in the latter’s home turf? Or will the Lions play the role of a rude host to the visiting Green Bay unit?

Betting on the Green Bay Packers (2-1-1)
Aaron Rodger Rodgers thought that the Packers did not do enough on offense last Sunday. That’s despite a 22-0 win over the Buffalo Bills at home. But that’s just Rodgers, who’s idea of perfect is on another level. Against the Bills, Rodgers passed for 298 yards and a touchdown with an interception on 22-of-40 completions. Another Aaron, however, made a difference for the Packers are running back Aaron Jones racked up 65 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts. Jones gives Rodgers and Green Bay’s passing attack a terrific complement in the backfield. Jones is starting to get into a groove after missing the first two weeks of the season due to suspension. The Packers are averaging 102 rushing yards per game on the season, but have put up over 120.5 rushing yards over their last two games or since Jones returned to active duty. Perhaps Rodgers will come away more satisfied with the Packers offense next week against the Lions’ stop unit that is only 24th in the league in scoring defense. Moreover, Jones might have a killing in that game, as the Lions are last in the league against the run.
The Packers are 3-2 ATS in their last five games against Detroit.
Betting on the Detroit Lions (1-3)
If the Lions are going places this season, they need Matthew Stafford and the team’s offense to be top notch. That’s largely because, as implied earlier, their defense is whack. Detroit absorbed yet another loss last Sunday, as it got handed a 26-24 setback by the Dallas Cowboys on the road. Stafford played well, passing for 307 passing yards and two touchdowns without an interception while completing 24 of his 30 passes to finish with a 131.5 passer rating. Stafford played sweet music together with wide receiver Golden Tate, who caught both of the quarterback’s bombs and finished with 132 receiving yards on eight receptions. Although the Packers shutout the Bills’ offense last week, Green Bay should have its hands full against a more talented cast of receivers in Detroit with Tate, Marvin Jones, and Kenny Golladay. The Lions are 10th in the league with 292.5 passing yards per game and 11th in total offense with 390.5 total yards per contest.
The Lions are 3-1 ATS in their last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
