Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (3-3)

The Cardinals are gaining serious steam after winning all of their last three games, the latest was a 27-21 victory over the New York Giants on the road. Running back Chase Edmonds surprised fantasy owners who were bold enough to start him by rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries. David Johnson barely played in the rain-soaked game, which explains Edmonds’ workload, but there could be a two-headed monster in the making for Arizona’s backfield. Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Kyler Murray passed for just 104 yards on 14-of-21 completions, but he’s on his way to becoming a better director of offense for the Cardinals, who are 11th in the league with 127.4 rushing yards per game and 12th in third-down conversion percentage. On the season, Murraya has 1,768 passing yards and seven touchdowns against four interceptions.

The Cardinals are 4-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last four road games.

Betting on the New Orleans Saints (6-1)

Teddy Bridgewater is the gift that keeps on giving for the Saints, who remain undefeated with Drew Brees’ backup as their starter this season. In their last game, the Saints took down the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, 36-25. Bridgewater threw for 281 passing yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-38 completions, while Latavis Murray led the team with 119 rushing yards and two rushing scores. Alvin Kamara also missed the game due to a high-ankle injury, and he’s already been declared out for the matchup against the Cardinals. However, Murray’s presence ensures the Saints a reliable rushing weapon. Murray should be able to find gaps to run through against the Cardinals’ defense that is allowing 129.1 rushing yards per game — just 25th in the NFL.  Plus, New Orleans still has wide receiver Michael Thomas, who’ll be a problem downfield for Arizona’s pass defense. Thomas had 131 receiving yards on nine catches and 11 targets in the win over the Bears.

The Saints are 2-0 ATS in their last two home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Saints win, 33-21.
