The New York Giants will test their fresh legs when it travels to the Windy City for a showdown with the Chicago Bears, who are growing desperate for wins. Will the Giants get a win at Soldier Field and add to the headache of Chicago? Or will the Bears stabilize their season a bit with a victory?
The Giants did not play in Week 11, thanks to a bye — something that the team needed to clear their heads after a seven-game losing streak they want to snap out of. In their most recent outing, the Giants took a 34-27 road loss to the New York Jets in Week 10. That despite Daniel Jones putting up his best performance yet of his young career. Jones went 26 for 40 for 308 passing yards and four touchdowns without tossing an interception. It was practically a Daniel Jones show on offense, as running back Saquon Barkley and company were not able to provide much on the ground, tallying a measly 23 rushing-yard output on 17 carries. The Giants missed starter on the offensive line, and it showed in Barkley not finding much space to run and Jones getting sacked six times for a loss of 50 yards. The Giants also missed tight end Evan Engram due to concussion in Week 10, while another tight end in Rhett Ellison also suffered a concussion in the Jets game. The two tight ends’ status for Week 12 remains up in the air as of this writing.
The over is 3-0 in the last three games of the Giants, who are averaging 20.3 points per contest.
Betting on the Chicago Bears (4-6)
The Bears’ season isn’t totally lost, even if they have gone 1-4 SU in their last five games and are coming off a 17-7 road loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, but they probably have to move forward without Mitchell Trubisky. The quarterback suffered a hip injury late in the Rams game and was replaced by Chase Daniel. Trubisky was not doing great anyway, so a change under center could benefit Chicago, which only had 267 total yards against the Rams. Trubisky went just 24 for 43 for 190 passing yards and a touchdown and an interception before leaving the contest and paving the way for Daniel to take over. On the season, Daniel has 435 passing yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions in three games. Daniel has an opportunity to shine against the Giants’ faulty defense that is allowing 28.9 points per game –third-most in the NFL.
