Betting on the Alabama Crimson Tide (odds)

Record: 18-5 Overall / 13-1 Conference

After a shock loss to the Missouri Tigers earlier this month, Alabama racked up three wins in a row, with the latest over the Vanderbilt Commodores at home last Saturday, 82-78. Alabama had a harder time disposing of the Commodores than what most people expected, as the Crimson Tide entered that game as 14-point home favorites. Nevertheless, Alabama scored more than its season average of 80.9 points per game despite shooting 33.3 percent from the floor. Alabama will look to do better in the rematch against Arkansas. The Crimson Tide defeated Arkansas back in January at home, 90-59, shooting 48.4 percent from the field and hitting 15 of 36 3-point attempts. Alabama is among the most lethal 3-point shooting team in the nation, as it is second overall with 10.9 threes per game.

The over is 3-0 in Alabama’s last three games, but the under is 4-3 in the team’s last seven.

Betting on the Arkansas Razorbacks (odds)

Record: 17-5 Overall / 9-4 Conference

The Razorbacks team that Alabama will meet this week appears to be deadlier and more confident. Arkansas has beaten four teams in a row, entering the rematch against Alabama. The Razorbacks took down the likes of the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington and the Florida Gators at home over that stretch. In that span, Arkansas averaged 75.8 points and allowed 67.5. In the loss to Alabama, the Razorbacks were too reliant on Moses Moody who scored nearly half of his team’s total scoring output, as he had 28 points on 10-of-25 shooting. Moody, who scored 17 points in their 75-64 home win over Florida on Feb. 16, is leading the Razorbacks this season with 16.2 points per game. Arkansas is also a high-scoring team like Alabama, It just didn’t show in the loss to the Crimson Tide. On the season, Arkansas is ninth nationally with 82.5 points per game.

Arkansas is 3-0 against the spread in its last three games at home. The total hit the under in all those games.

Writer’s Prediction

Alabama wins, 78-74.
