The Ravens got back up from an overtime loss in Week 1 to the Las Vegas Raiders on the road with a resounding 36-35 statement victory against the Kansas City Chiefs at home in Week 2. Lamar Jackson is a game-changer, and it was on full display in both those games, especially against the Chiefs in which he led the team with 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. His passing was not as efficient, as he had two interceptions, but he still came away with a passing touchdown and 239 yards on 18/26 completions. Jackson can have another magnificent day on the ground this Sunday against the struggling Lions who have yet to figure things out on both sides of the ball. The Lions are allowing 38.0 points per game and 10.2 yards per pass. Baltimore likes to run the ball, but the Ravens can’t pass up on the chance to slay the Lions’ problematic defense through the air.
The Ravens are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games overall.
It’s not about to get any easier for the Lions. A week after getting blown to bits by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, Detroit, its defense in particular, will be catching all of Lamar Jackson and the high-scoring Ravens. The Lions, however, can make life just as hard for the Ravens’ defense that’s been faulty as well. In fact, Baltimore is allowing 34.0 points per game this season. It’s also second-worst in the NFL with 448 total yards allowed per game. Granted that the Ravens had faced the high-power offenses of the Raiders and the Chiefs in their last two games, the Lions, with Jared Goff under center, are not too shabby either offensively. Detroit is averaging 25.0 points per game and is tops in the NFL with a 100 red-zone scoring percentage.
The Lions are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games in September.
