TV Broadcast: CBS

Betting on the LSU Tigers (odds)

Record: 12-7 Overall/1-6 Conference

The downward spiral continues for LSU, which suffered a 77-56 home loss Saturday to the Tennessee Volunteers. That was the Tigers’ sixth straight loss. If there’s any good news for the Tigers, it’s that they shot better in the Tennessee game than in their most other losses recently. The Tigers recorded a 52.3 eFG% against Tennessee – the first time LSU had an eFG% over 50% since their early-January loss to the Kentucky Wildcats. Perhaps seeing Arkansas again will give the Tigers’ morale a shot. After all, the Razorbacks are the last team LSU beat. The Tigers beat Arkansas late last month at home, 60-57. Watch out for the Tigers’ outside shooting, as they’re third in the nation entering Saturday with 10.9 threes per contest.

The Over is 2-1 in LSU’s last three games.

Betting on the Arkansas Razorbacks (odds)

Record: 13-6 Overall/2-5 Conference

Arkansas broke its four-game losing skid with a 69-57 home win against the Mississippi State Bulldogs last Saturday. Injuries have slowed down the Razorbacks this season with Trevon Brazile and Nick Smith out with injuries. Nevertheless, Arkansas should still be good enough to take down a struggling LSU squad that arguably owns both the worst offense and defense in the SEC. The Tigers’ defense in particular has been like a broken turnstile lately, so the Razorbacks’ scoring offense which is near top 50 in the nation should find more success in Round 2 versus LSU. Leading scorer Ricky Council IV can come up with a more productive showing on offense this time after scoring just 2 points on 1/6 shooting versus Mississippi State.

The Under is 3-6-1 in Arkansas’ last 10 games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Arkansas wins, 73-66.
