Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (odds)
Regular Season Record: 10-3
The Cardinals struck out on a great opportunity to expand their lead atop the NFC West, as they lost to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday. The Rams were missing a number of key players, but that didn’t seem to matter at all for LA. Kyler Murray was clearly not at his best, as he threw zero touchdowns, got intercepted twice, and was sacked four times for a loss of 39 yards. But he should find navigating the field through the air and on the ground a whole lot easier in Week 15 against the toothless defense of the Lions. It’s one thing to face Aaron Donald and it’s another to deal with the Lions, who are 29th in the NFL in scoring defense and also 29th in defensive sack rate. Conversely, the Cardinals are third overall with 28.6 points per game average.
The Cardinals are 8-2 against their last 10 games overall.
Betting on the Detroit Lions (odds)
Regular Season Record: 1-11
After scoring their first win of the season by defeating the Minnesota Vikings at home in Week 13, the Lions are back to their losing ways, as Detroit got crushed by the Denver Broncos on the road, 38-10, last Sunday. The Lions did not have tight end TJ Hockenson and running back D’Andre Swift in that game because of injuries, but the team is hoping that the two will be able to return to action for Week 15. Then again, with the season lost, the Lions might decide to sit those players for the rest of the campaign than risk them to injuries in seemingly meaningless contests. Although they have lost several games this season, the Lions are doing relatively well against the spread (ATS).
For one, the Lions are 8-5 ATS this season. Plus, they have also covered the spread in four of their six home games, thus far.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cardinals win, 31-13.
