Line: Chicago Bears (+9.0) vs Dallas Cowboys (-9.0) – view all 2022 NFL lines
TV Broadcast: FOX
Betting on the Chicago Bears (+9.0)
Regular Season Record: 3-4
The defense stepped up big time for the Bears in Week 7. Chicago recorded three interceptions and forced a lost Patriots fumble Monday night. Tired of losing, Justin Fields put up a strong performance in the Patriots game, passing and rushing for a touchdown each. He did have some errors, including an interception, but it was clear that he can create plays that can catch defenses by surprise with the help of his athleticism and mobility.
The Bears, who are seventh in the league with just 18.9 points allowed per game, are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games after scoring over 30 points in their previous outing.
Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (-9.0)
Regular Season Record: 5-2
In his first start since returning from injury, Dak Prescott looked solid. He passed for 207 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 19/25 completions. We said that the Bears’ defense has been stellar of late, particularly last Sunday but neither Mac Jones nor Billy Zappe is quite on the level of Prescott. Chicago took advantage of Zappe’s greenness, with Zappe accounting for three of the Patriots’ turnovers. That’s unlikely to happen with Prescott, who leads a Cowboys team that is fourth-best in the NFL with just 0.9 giveaways per game.
The Cowboys are 11-1 against the spread versus a team with a losing record.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cowboys win, 30-17.
