[sc:NBA240banner ]The skidding Wizards are looking to break their four-game losing streak later tonight, but that’s going to be easier said than done with LeBron James and the Cavaliers awaiting them in Cleveland. The Wizards are coming off a heartbreaking 84-82 loss to Toronto on Saturday, when they were sent packing by a Corey Joseph buzzer-beating three.

Joseph’s game-winner should serve as a lesson for Washington’s defense, which is about to contend with Cleveland’s bevy of shooters. Cleveland is third-most in the NBA in threes made with 10.2 per game. The Cavs, who are sixth in the NBA in scoring with 103.1 points per game average, sank 11 triples in their 90-88 win over Brooklyn on Saturday. The Wizards are 3-1 ATS in their last four games in Cleveland, while the Cavs are 9-0 SU in their last nine home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Cleveland wins, 108-98.

Maryland Terrapins vs. North Carolina Tar Heels (9:30 PM ET)

Melo Trimble

Former ACC member and current No. 2 Maryland is about to face its toughest test thus far this season, when the Terps take on No. 9 North Carolina later tonight. Maryland is coming off a resounding 80-63 win over Cleveland State on Saturday to extend the Terps’ undefeated start to the season to six games. Melo Trimble will lead Maryland’s attack against the Tar Heels with the super sophomore averaging 14.8 points per game. Defense, however, is the name of the Terps’ game, as the team is 30th in the nation with only 62.8 points allowed per contest.

They’re going to need that type of defense against the Tar Heels, who are averaging 81.3 PPG, and should have senior point guard Marcus Paige back from injury. Even with Paige’s absence, they still have four players averaging at least 11.0 PPG with Justin Jackson pacing the team with his 14.7 PPG average.

Writer’s Prediction

North Carolina wins, 74-67.
