Betting on the Boston University Terriers (TBA)

BU is scoring almost just as much points as its defense is allowing this season, which explains why the Terriers have lost their last four games.

Their latest loss on Wednesday night to Canisius marked the Terriers’ first one at home, but was also another game wherein their late-game rally fell short. A Cedrik-Hankerson three-pointer made it a 5-point game with 1:05 to play before the Golden Griffins responded with a 5-0 run to seal the deal.

There are clearly several issues surrounding the Terriers’ defense (74.0 points given up per game). It’s highly unlikely that they’ll be able to fix their defensive issues on or before Saturday’s road game with Syracuse, so maybe playing as the aggressors offensively is the better route to victory for coach Joe Jones’ group.

BU’s offense is respectably amassing more than 70 points per game thus far, including a 102-point effort in the win over Maine last month. Eric Fanning (14.8 PPG), Cheddi Mosely (10.1 PPG), Justin Alston (9.3 PPG) and Hankerson (9.3 PPG) are all contributing at least nine points a game for the Terriers.

Betting on the Syracuse Orange (TBA)

Things have gone sour for Syracuse lately, losing three of its last four games. The latest of which was the hardest one to digest, as the Orange lost a 52-50 nail-biter on Monday night to Connecticut—a game where the both teams shot miserably from the field.

Andrew White III led the way for the ‘Cuse with 14 points on 4-of-15 shooting, while DaJuan Coleman, who pitched in 10 points, was the only Orange that managed to shoot above 50 percent.

Syracuse’s inconsistency to score has been the main cause of its recent shortcomings. But the Orange should be very eager to end their offensive woes in Saturday’s home game with Boston University—a team that’s allowed 77 or more points in three of its past four games.

The Orange are priced at +1,800 to win it all this season.
