Chicago Bears vs Arizona Cardinals Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – NFL Week 3 – September 23 2018

The Chicago Bears are getting better, as Khalil Mack becomes more comfortable in his new environment. NFL Futures currently list the squad with +1,500 odds to win the NFC. The Bears will travel next to Glendale this weekend in search for their second win in a row. Based in this NFL season’s first two weeks, the Arizona Cardinals (+15,000 to win the NFC) look like sitting ducks in the cross hairs of Chicago’s unforgiving offense that recently just demolished Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.

Will the Bears take down Arizona? Or will the Cards pull off an upset win at home?

Betting on the Chicago Bears (1-1)

Khalil Mack is the gift that keeps on giving for the Bears, as Chicago’s prized offseason acquisition made his presence felt again during last Monday’s 24-17 home win over the Seattle Seahawks. Mack recorded five total tackles (four solo), a sack, and a quarterback hit against Seattle. Mack, however, isn’t the only star of Chicago’s defense, as evidenced by the fact that the Bears sacked Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson six times held Seattle’s offense to only 276 total yards. The Bears are heading to Week 3 11th in the league with 20.5 points allowed per game and eighth in total defense with just 323.0 total yards surrendered per contest. If you close your eyes now, you could actually see Mack and the Bears’ defense trampling Arizona putrid offense that laid an egg in Week 2.

The Bears are 3-1 ATS in their last four road games.

Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (0-2)

The Cardinals have yet to score a touchdown this season. Again: The Cardinals have yet to find the end zone through two weeks of the new NFL season. It’s been that kind of campaign so far for Sam Bradford and the Cardinals, who took an embarrassing 34-0 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday. Bradford went 17 of 27 for only 90 passing yards with an interception, while the Cards’ backfield coughed up only 54 rushing yards on 13 carries. Running back David Johnson is the team’s best player, but his potential is being capped by the limited level of talent around him. Only Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk are Arizona wide receivers who have caught a pass this year. Up against the monster Bears’ defense, the Cards need to avoid self-inflicted errors. If anything, the Bears don’t have a sparking offense, with the still developing Mitchell Trubisky under center for Chicago.

The Cardinals are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games as an underdog.

Writer’s Prediction

Chicago wins, 28-16.
