Betting on the Chicago Bears (+3.0)
Regular Season Record: 3-7
Justin Fields was amazing, even in the loss to the Lions. He passed for just 167 yards and had two interceptions, but he also had a pair of touchdown tosses and led the Bears with 147 rushing yards and two scores on 13 carries. Fields can singlehandedly take over Chicago’s offense with his arm and legs. After seeing D’Onta Foreman run all over the Falcons in Week 10, Fields, David Montgomery, and Khalil Herbert should be dreaming big about what they could potentially do against Atlanta’s leaky run defense. Then again, there should be an opportunity for Fields to capitalize on Atlanta’s pass defense that is last in the league in yards allowed.
The Bears are 4-1 againt the spread in their last five road games vsersus a team with a losing record at home.
Betting on the Atlanta Falcons (-3.0)
Regular Season Record: 4-6
The Falcons should be well-rested. Coming off a Thursday game and scheduled to play this coming Sunday, Marcus Mariota and the Falcons must have the fresher legs than Chicago. Atlanta is on a two-game win streak, with the team’s offense unable to generate much. The Falcons have scored just a total of 32 points in their last two outings, though, they have some great weapons to expose Chicago’s stop unit. Marcus Mariota isn’t elite, but his dual-threat capabilities can come in handy against Chicago. Like Chicago, the Falcons are a run-heavy team, one that is averaging 160.4 rushing yards per game, good for fourth-best in the NFL.
The Falcons are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games against teams in the NFC.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bears win, 27-21.
