Betting on the Clemson Tigers (21-7)

Clemson will be away from home when it plays its last regular season game of the season. The Tigers are not exactly that strong of a performer on the road, as they are just 2-5 SU over their last five trips away from their campus. Nevertheless, the Tigers will be tagging along with them their defense that currently ranks 25th in the nation with just 65.8 points allowed per game. While they lost to Duke on Feb. 18, 66-57, the Tigers were successful in shaving 20 points off the Blue Devils’ season average in points. The loss of senior forward Donte Grantham to a season-ending knee injury is a big hit to Clemson, but the Tigers still have Marcquise Reed, who is averaging 15.9 points per game.

Clemson is 3-2 SU and ATS in its last five games against the Orange dating back to 2007.

Betting on the Syracuse Orange (18-11)

The Orange are in limbo right now with regards to their chances of making the national tournament. According to Joe Lunardi of ESPN, Syracuse is one of his first four teams out, but a win against the ranked Clemson squad at home could strengthen the Orange’s case heading into the ACC Tournament. Similar to Clemson, the Orange rely on their stout defense. They are 11th in the nation with 63.8 points allowed per game. They are limiting opponents to only 39.3 percent shooting from the floor. Syracuse does not score a ton of points – just 68.0 points per game – but it also takes away plenty of its opponents’ scoring chances because the Orange does a good job of clearing the glass. They are fourth in the conference with 41.3 rebounds per contest.
