The No. 8 Creighton Bulldogs have not lost in nearly a month, and they have no plans of seeing that streak get snapped, as they go up against the struggling Butler Bulldogs on Saturday. The Bulldogs have only two wins so far in Big East 12, but can they capture a huge one this week at the expense of the Bluejays?

Betting on the Creighton Bluejays (odds)
Record: 10-2 Overall / 6-1 Conference
Despite playing without their best player, the Bluejays’ high-octane offense managed to shoot the lights out in the team’s 97-79 home win over the St. John’s Red Storm last Saturday. Creighton missed the services of Marcus Zegarowski in the Red Storm game due to a hamstring injury, but shot 54.4 percent from the field and went 16 of 36 from deep for a 44.4 percent accuracy. It’s possible that Zegarowski will return to action this coming Saturday, thanks to a week-long break by Creighton, but if he sits again, the Bluejays could still be fine. Guard Denzel Mahoney, currently the team’s leading scorer this season, erupted for 24 points against St. John’s, while five other players scored in double digits. The Bluejays have shot at least 54 percent in each of their last two games and hit a total of 29 3-pointers over that span. On the season, Creighton is 17th in the nation with 83.2 points per game.
Creighton is 6-4 against the spread in its last 10 road games.
Betting on the Butler Bulldogs (odds)
Record: 3-6 Overall / 2-4 Conference
It’s been a rough season thus far for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 72-60 home loss to the Connecticut Huskies last Saturday. Unlike Creighton, the Bulldogs haven’t been particularly great on offense. They are just 244th overall in offensive rating and are only 313th with 63.7 points per game. In addition, Butler is making just 42.3 percent of its shots. In their loss to the Huskies, the Bulldogs were a bit more respectable, though, as they knocked down 46.7 percent of their field goal attempts. The key for Butler is to slow down the pace against Creighton in order to minimize the Bulldogs’ opportunities on offense. Butler is only 278th national in terms of adjusted tempo.
Butler is 2-1 against the spread in its last three home games. The over is 4-1 in the Bulldogs’ last five at home.
Writer’s Prediction
Creighton wins, 72-65.
