Dallas did not have a good Thanksgiving Day, as it lost to the Las Vegas Raiders at home in Week 12, 36-33. The Cowboys have now gone 1-3 in their last four games and 0-2 in their past two. This is a team that needs a boost in confidence, especially on defense after seeing Derek Carr have success against Dallas’ stop unit. But look for the Cowboys to roll on offense in Week 13 against New Orleans, which has simply gotten worse defensively. The Saints have allowed 94 points in their last three games. Dak Prescott went 32/47 for 375 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions against the Raiders but needs Zeke Elliott and the Cowboys’ rushing attack to pick it up after averaging just 3.2 yards per carry in the Las Vegas game.
The Cowboys are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games overall.
Betting on the New Orleans Saints (+6)
Regular Season Record: 5-6
The Saints also played on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12 and got carved up like a dinner turkey in a 31-6 home loss to the Buffalo Bills. To be fair, New Orleans was missing a number of key players for that contest. Running backs Alvin Kama and Mark Ingram were out with injuries, while tight end Adam Trautman was placed on the injured reserve ahead of the contest. The Saints are hoping for at least Kamara to return to action and help them against the Cowboys. Kamara has been the best receiving option as well as the no. 1 ground threat on the Saints offense when he’s healthy. But with how the Cowboys’ defense has been holding up of late, perhaps the Saints can still find holes on it to gain yards and move the chains for scores.
The over is 4-1 in the Saints’ last five games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cowboys win, 27-20.
