When Dallas lost (and failed to score a TD) as a 4.5-point home favorite to the Seattle Seahawks last weekend, they were eliminated from the playoffs, bringing their season record to 8-7 straight up and 7-7-1 against the spread. Last week went better for the Eagles, who clinched the top seed spot in the NFC playoffs with a 19-10 win over the Raiders, although they failed to cover as 10-point chalk. Philadelphia heads into their Week 17 matchup against the Cowboys with a 13-2 SU and 10-5 ATS record, and 3-1 SU/ATS bragging rights in their last four games against Dallas.

Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (8-7)
It has been a strange season for the Cowboys. With all the Elliot drama unfolding and the eventual suspension, the Cowboys had a shot to stay alive and needed a win last week against Seattle. Even with Zeke back, things didn’t go according to plan as the Cowboys really struggled on both sides of the ball and eventually found themselves eliminated after everything was said and done.
Dallas just hasn’t found any consistency this year with everything going on and now will look to just end the year on a high note. One of the main reasons the Cowboys will find themselves out this year has been the play of Dak Prescott. He has done some really great things this season, but they’ve really been overshadowed by the bad. Prescott has thrown for 13 interceptions and really went cold when Elliot was suspended. That was the biggest issue for him as he simply couldn’t put the team on his shoulders when they needed him the most.
Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (13-2)
You would have thought that the Eagles were poised for a huge run here this postseason if you just looked at their record. However, that is not the case as QB Carson Wentz’s injury has this team in the hands of Nick Foles. While Foles and the Eagles came away with a win on Monday Night over Oakland, it was far from pretty. The offense produced just 13 points minus the final touchdown on the last play of the game from the defense.
Foles really struggled to find any sort of rhythm from the beginning and that is a huge red flag for this team. On Monday, Foles threw for just 163 yards and looked completely out of sync with his receivers. From throwing behind them, to over throwing them, this is something he really needs to work on here come Sunday.
Jay Ajayi is going to be a huge piece to this team moving forward as well. If the Eagles can establish a run game early, it will do wonders for the pass game and opening a lot of holes in the secondary.
Writer’s Prediction
The Dallas Cowboys have been a mess so far this season, as I still think they are games away from covering any type of games right now. Maybe next year. Pick: Eagles (+3.0)
