The Detroit Tigers are looking to bounce back tonight. The chances of that from happening appear relatively good especially with Mike Pelfrey (1-5, 4.76 ERA) set to toe the rubber tonight for them.

Pelfrey has had a pretty rough start this season, but he finally got the break he was waiting for during his previous start opposite the White Sox last Saturday. During that game, the veteran righty logged in six innings of two-run ball to finally earn his first victory for the Tiger.

It’ll be interesting to see, however, if Pelfrey can sustain his form versus the New York Yankees—a team that he usually struggles against. He is only 2-4 with a 4.74 ERA, a 1.63 WHIP and a .294 opponents’ batting average through seven career starts in this matchup.

That being said, the Tigers, who are averaging 4.66 runs per contest this year, better back him up with some timely runs at the plate. And you can most definitely look to the pairing of Miguel Cabrera and Ian Kinsler to lead the charge in doing so.

Cabrera carries team-highs of 12 homers and 36 RBIs, while also heads into tonight’s game riding on a 10-game hitting streak. He’s gone 12-of-41 with three doubles, five runs batted in and one homer during that stretch.

Kinsler, meanwhile, has been scorching hot as well. He’s gone 10-of-32 with seven RBIs throughout this month of June.

Detroit is 3-7 SU in its past 10 road games. The Tigers are also priced at +1,400 to win the American League crown.

Betting on the New York Yankees (30-30)

On the other side, the New York Yankees will hand the ball to CC Sabathia (3-4, 2.58 ERA) to help them extend their four-game winning streak tonight.

Sabathia has put in four-consecutive strong starts ever since he made his return from a left groin injury last month. In that run, he boasts a 1.13 ERA and has not yielded two or more runs. The Yankees, however, only won once in that same stretch. Clearly, offense has been something that the team desperately needs.

Speaking of which, the Yankees, who are putting in just 3.98 runs per match this season, can expect the tandem of Carlos Beltran and Jacoby Ellsbury to get things going at the plate.

Beltran currently leads the team in homers (16), runs batted in (41) and hits (59). He’s also 3-of-5 lifetime versus the Tigers’ starter in Mike Pelfrey. Ellsbury, meanwhile, is a career .333 (3-of-9) in the same matchup.

New York is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games at home. The Pinstripes are also pegged at +1,200 to bag home the AL East division title.
