Michael Fabiano – NFL.com
Position | Player |
---|---|
Quarterback | Carson Palmer |
Quarterback | Ryan Tannehill |
Quarterback | Mark Sanchez |
Running back | Bobby Rainey |
Running back | Tre Mason |
Running back | Anthony Dixon |
Running back | Alfred Blue |
Wide Receiver | Josh Gordon |
Wide Receiver | Martavis Bryant |
Tight End | Owen Daniels |
Michael Fabiano of NFL.com offers up a trio of interesting quarterback options this week: Arizona’s Carson Palmer, Miami’s Ryan Tannehill and Philadelphia’s Mark Sanchez, who will make his first start for the Eagles after the injury to Nick Foles.
I’d rank these three signal callers: Palmer, Sanchez, Tannehill. Palmer has been solid all season, throwing for at least two touchdowns in each of his five starts this season, and plays behind a much more consistent team than either Sanchez or Tannehill.
Between him and Sanchez, Palmer may have the tougher defensive matchup in Week 10, as the Cardinals meet St. Louis while Sanchez’s Jets take on Carolina, but even Sanchez is a far less proven quarterback, especially within the Eagles offense.
Tannehill has been great over the past couple of weeks, and had another awesome game against the Chargers where he threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns (both season-highs). But he’s last only because of his matchup against the Lions, who have arguably been the best defense in the league this year.
Brad Pinkerton – Sporting News
Position | Player |
---|---|
Running back | Alfred Blue |
Running back | Tre Mason |
Running back | Bobby Rainey |
Running back | Terrance West |
Running back | Bryce Brown |
Running back | Charles Sims |
Running back | Isaiah Crowell |
Wide Receiver | Kenny Stills |
Tight End | Charles Clay |
Brad Pinkerton of Sporting News has gone almost exclusively with running backs as his waiver wire pickups this week. Interestingly though, he’s gone with a two sets of running back platoons: Cleveland’s Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell and Tampa Bay’s Bobby Rainey and Charles Sims.
The Browns’ offense has fallen off the proverbial cliff ever since they lost center Alex Mack, so it’s odd to see not one but two of their backs here. And don’t forget, they’ve also got Ben Tate, who should in theory be their no. 1 back. However, they’re playing the Bengals and their pretty bad run defense this week, so one of them has a good chance of vulturing a touchdown. Knowing exactly who that’ll be is the tough part.
Speaking of bad run defenses, they don’t get any worse than the Atlanta Falcons’, whom the Buccaneers are facing this week. Rainey has been the de facto lead back since Doug Martin went down with another injury, but be warned: the returning rookie Charles Sims may just eat into Rainey’s workload despite being inactive in Week 9. This Falcons run defense is pretty atrocious though, so bad that there may be just enough points to go around for both.

Chris Rolling – Bleacher Report
Player | Position |
---|---|
Running back | Bobby Rainey |
Running back | Matt Asiata |
Wide Receiver | Mike Evans |
Wide Receiver | Allen Hurns |
Tight End | Charles Clay |
Last but not least, Chris Rolling of Bleacher Report suggests grabbing hold of a couple of Florida-located rookie wide receivers in Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans and Jacksonville’s Allen Hurns.
It’s hard to imagine Evans still hanging around in the waiver wire, but if he’s still there, grab him. He’s been Mike Glennon’s favorite target, with at least seven targets in their five games together. And it bears repeating: the Bucs are up against the Falcons this week. The Falcons.
The Cowboys aren’t quite as bad as the Atlanta, but their secondary is still pretty subpar. That’s probably reason enough to snap up Allen Hurns. Hurns has been something of a forgotten man in Jacksonville ever since his breakout Week 1 performance, but his 112-yard, two-touchdown effort against the Bengals suggests he’s still a worthwhile weapon in fantasy.
