The No. 17 Florida State Seminoles (+8,000 to win the national title) are the in the middle of the pack in the ACC standings, and they have been making plenty of success of late. The Georgia Yellow Jackets, meanwhile, are struggling with their offense that couldn’t keep up with their otherwise fantastic defense. Will the Seminoles beat Georgia Tech again? Or will the Yellow Jackets (+200,000) avenge their loss earlier this month to Florida State?

Betting on the Florida State Seminoles (18-5 Overall / 6-4 Conference)
Last week was very good for the Seminoles, who eked out two wins against teams in the top half of the ACC standings. They beat the Syracuse Orange at home 80-62 on Feb. 5 and defeated the No. 16 Louisville Cardinals also at home last Saturday, 80-75, in overtime. It was also not that long ago when Florida State victimized Georgia Tech at home in a 59-49 win on Feb. 2. That win is part of Florida State’s current five-game winning streak, which should extend to six heading into the rematch with the Yellow Jackets, barring an upset loss at the hands of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons this Wednesday. The Seminoles’ defense has been dialed in of late, having allowed just 62.0 points over their last three games – way better than their season average of 68.6 points surrendered per outing. In the first meeting with Georgia Tech, the Seminoles limited the Yellow Jackets to just 28.3 field goal shooting percentage.
Florida State is 2-0 against the spread (ATS) in its last two road games, and are 3-3 straight up (SU) on the road so far in the 2018-19 NCAA season.
Betting on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (11-3 Overall / 3-8 Conference)
Like the Seminoles, Georgia Tech is playing solid defense this season, too, which has been trying to compensate for the lack of prowess on the other end of the floor. The Yellow Jackets are sixth in the conference in adjusted defensive efficiency according to KenPom with only 99.6 points allowed per 100 possessions. They are also second in opponents’ effective field goal percentage with a 45.3 clip. But again, their scoring just hasn’t been holding its end of the bargain, as they are last in the conference with just 65.5 points per game. That’s also 313th in the nation. The team’s highest scorer is Jose Alvarado, who is putting up only 11.7 points per game, while James Banks III is averaging 10.4 points. The two, however, were horrendous in the first meeting with Florida State, combining for only five points, with Alvarado going kaput on an atrocious 0-for-10 shooting from the floor. Cutting down on their turnovers should help the Yellow Jackets, who lead the league in errors with 15.2 per game.
Georgia Tech is 8-7 ATS in home games this season.
Writer’s Prediction
Florida State wins, 66-60.
