Betting on the Florida State Seminoles (20-11)
It’s just right to think that Florida State is capable of bringing any team down in the tournament on the basis of the fact the Seminoles had beaten in the regular season teams like North Carolina, Miami, and Clemson. They have reaped success this campaign because of their athleticism, size, and offense. The Noles are 23rd in the nation in scoring with 81.8 points per game on 47.3 percent shooting. They play a fast-paced game and gets plenty of points in transition. They make over 63 percent of their shots at the rim and shoots over 54 percent of their two-point shots because they seldom settle for jump shots. Florida State’s defense is big question mark, however, as it has allowed at least 80 points to opponents in nine times this year. The Noles are 17th in the nation, however, in blocks with 5.2 swats per contest.
Betting on the Missouri Tigers (20-12)
After a long absence, star recruit Michael Porter Jr. returned to action last Thursday in a loss to Georgia in the SEC Tournament. Porter scored 12 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the field, and could put up an evern better showing against Florida State after shaking off more rusts. It’s not fair to gauge the Tigers based on Porter, though, given his absence, so it would be more wise to analyze them by looking at their defense and the players that led them to an at-large berth. The Tigers are 47th in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency. They limit opponents to just 40.7 field goal percentage. Unlike Florida State, Mizzou likes to slow theg ame down, which is why the Tigers’ tempo is rated 297th on KenPom. Porter Jr.’s younger brother, Joey, has blossomed during his older sibling’s absence. Joey Porter averages 10.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, while Kassius Robertson leads the team in points with 16.2 per outing.
Writer’s Prediction
