The Dayton Flyers (+1800 to win the national title) are making loud noises this season, especially for a mid-major program, thanks to their scorching offense that has led them to rank No. 7 in the AP Poll this week. Will the Flyers keep on winning? Or will we see the Fordham Rams deal Dayton a gut-punch of a loss?

Betting on the Fordham Rams (7-12 Overall / 1-6 Conference)
The Rams appear to have forgotten how to shoot the rock during their 55-39 loss to the Saint Louis Billikens last Sunday on the road. Fordham was atrocious on offense from almost anywhere on the floor against the Billikens, shooting just 31.3 percent from the field, 21.7 percent (5-23) from behind the arc, and went 4 of 13 from the charity stripe. Fordham defended well, though, as St Louis shot just 43.5 percent and went only 4 of 18 from the 3-point area. Fordham’s offense has been a constant issue for the team, which, by now, is very much aware of its anemic scoring. The Rams are averaging just 58.5 points per game, while also having a 44.9 effective field goal percentage — both numbers are sub-330th in Division I basketball. The Rams’ offense isn’t going to get respect from Dayton, but they’ll have their defense to keep Dayton from breaking away. The Rams are 14th in the nation with just 60.6 points allowed per game.
The under is 6-0 in the Rams’ last six road games.
Betting on the Dayton Flyers (18-2 Overall / 7-0 Conference)
Dayton is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum on offense when compared to Fordham. While the Rams constantly struggle to buy a basket, the Flyers are doing it with ease. In fact, they arguably have the best offense in the nation. They definitely have a case Dayton owns the best effective field goal percentage (60.1) in Division I basketball and the second-highest scoring offense with an average of 83.2 points per outing. The Flyers are a selfless group of disciplined players with incredible familiarity with each other. That’s why Dayton is also pacing the nation in assists with 18.9 dimes per game. In their most recent game, the Flyers drained 53.7 percent of their shots from the field and knocked down 22 of 29 attempts from the free-throw line in an 87-79 road win over the Richmond Spiders last Saturday.
The Flyers are 7-2-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Dayton wins, 77-53.
