Betting on the Golden State Warriors (59-14)
After a noticeable struggle in trying to adjust without Kevin Durant, wherein they lost four of six games, the Warriors are continuing to regain their rhythm back. They are now winners of seven straight (5-2 ATS), with the most recent being against the Grizzlies, 106-94.
The victory enabled Golden State to even the season series with Memphis, who have beaten them twice this season. Stephen Curry had a 21-point, 11-assist double-double and Klay Thompson scored a game-high 31, and the two also combined for splashing a dozen threes.
Speaking of an even season series, the Warriors have split their two meetings with the Rockets this season. The first was a classic 132-127 double OT loss in early December, while the second was a commanding 125-108 revenge win in mid January.
The Dubs, as you may know, are boasting an explosive offense and defense. They are first in the league in scoring (115.9 PPG), assists (30.4 APG), steals (9.7 SPG), and blocks (6.6 BPG) and also consistently top two in offensive efficiency. Against a fast-paced Rockets team, such stats could be expected to get piled up.
Betting on the Houston Rockets (51-22)
The Rockets will also return to the court with great momentum. They are riding a four-game winning streak and have also won seven of their last eight. In that span, they are scoring 121.4 points, hitting 14.8 threes, and dishing out 26.8 assists per game, all while making 48.2 percent of their attempts.
James Harden has been spectacular in the said stretch, especially in the last five – 36.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 12.2 assists on 50 percent shooting. We should obviously expect the MVP frontrunner to fill the stat sheet once again. His 19 triple-doubles this season is second only to Russell Westbrook, and one of those came in their win over the Warriors a couple of months back.
Houston is one of the few teams in the league that can match the Warriors’ offense shot-for-shot. The team is a super close second to them in scoring (115.8 PPG), and currently has five players that put up double-digit points every night, five of which average at least a pair of threes per game.
Writer’s Prediction
