Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears Preview – NFL Football

Everything is at stake when the Packers and Bears meet at Soldier Field on Sunday. Despite missing Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay still found a way to remain a playoff contender right up to the last week. As for the Bears, they have the perfect opportunity to prove that the Packers can’t best them in the NFC North.

Update: Rodgers will start for the Packers on Sunday for the first time since breaking his collarbone back in Week 9.

Betting on the Green Bay Packers:

Still without Aaron Rodgers in Week 16, the Packers were once again quarterbacked by Matt Flynn versus the Steelers. But unlike in their Week 15 outing, the Packers did not manage a miracle win as they lost to the one-point underdog Pittsburgh, 38-31.

What’s more is that they could have already been ousted from playoff contention had the Bears won against Philadelphia only a couple of hours later.

Fortunately for Green Bay, the Eagles did them a favor by mauling Chicago, 54-11, setting up a do-or-die affair next week at Soldier Field, where the Packers are 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three trips.

Eddie Lacy, NFL, Green Bay Packers

The imminent war with the Bears could see the Packers’ rushing game play a key role. The Packers have the league’s seventh-best rushing game (130.4 yards per game). Expect the likes of Eddie Lacy to run circles around the Bears, who own the NFL’s worst rushing defense. That’s if he can make a return from aggravating his ankle injury. He left in the third quarter of their Week 16 contest and did not return to that game.

Bet now on the Green Bay Packers.

Betting on the Chicago Bears:

The Bears failed to capitalize on their opportunity to annex the NFC North title and a sure spot in the playoffs when they let Philadelphia embarrass them with a 54-11 whitewashing on the road. [sc:NFL240banner ]

Instead, their season will be decided in their last regular season game against the Packers. The Bears need to at least tie the game to win the division and a playoff berth.

Chicago beat the Packers before with Aaron Rodgers going out early in the game. They could duplicate that feat in the most important game of the season for both squads. To do that, the Bears need Jay Cutler and the O-line to avoid repeating their horrible performance against the Eagles, when they surrendered five sacks.

Their rushing game also needs to bounce back. After garnering at least 179 yards in the two contests prior to Week 16, the Bears ran into a roadblock against the Eagles, who limited them to just 61 rushing yards. The Bears have won against the spread in two of their last three games overall.

Bet now on the Chicago Bears.
