Betting on the Las Vegas Raiders (+3.5)
Regular Season Record: 2-0
The Raiders continue to have success in the preseason, as they notched their second in a row by defeating the Los Angeles Rams on the road last Saturday, 17-16. Even though Nathan Peterman threw two interceptions to overshadow his lone touchdown pass, the Raiders made up for that by simply being good defensively. The Raiders also had an interception and held the Rams to only 2 of 13 on third downs. Rookie cornerback Nate Hobbs is proving to be a game-changer. He had a stellar performance in the Rams game, as he came up with three solo tackles and an interception. He also nearly blocked a field goal, which just goes to show how much value he brings to the table for the Raiders. Hobbs and the Raiders’ defense smell like trouble for San Francisco, which had three turnovers in Week 2 of the NFL preseason.
The Raiders are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games in the preseason.
Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (-3.5)
Regular Season Record: 1-1
The Niners recovered from their Week 1 19-16 preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at home by scoring a 15-10 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday. Trey Lance impressed once again with his performance in that game, as he threw for 102 yards on 8-of-14 completions with a couple of touchdowns and an interception in the Chargers game. He was sacked twice for a loss of eight yards, so there will be more pressure on San Francisco’s offensive line to provide the rookie with more protection under center. Jimmy Garoppolo also played against the Bolts but was ineffective, albeit in just a few snaps. Jimmy G went 3 of 6 for 15 yards and was intercepted. The Raiders’ pass rush doesn’t seem imposing, though. Las Vegas onlyhas two sacks so far in the preseason.
The under is 5-1 in the 49ers’ last six preseason games.

The Raiders win, 21-17.
