The Angels are again coming off a punishing game. They lost to the Indians for the second time in as many nights, 10-4, which pushes the total score of the season series to 21-11, in favor of Cleveland.

There’s great danger that it happens for the third straight contest, as tomorrow’s starter, JC Ramirez, isn’t going to intimidate anyone. The 28-year-old is 9-8 with a 4.38 ERA in 22 appearances on the year, and he has given up seven runs on 13 hits and four balls in his last two outings (12 innings).

With that, expect the offense to lead the way should the Halos surge for a win. Mike Trout, who has at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games (plus three homers), and Andrelton Simmons, who’s 9-for-18 with a pair of homers, four RBIs and six runs in his last five, are the two main Angels to watch out for.

Betting on the Cleveland Indians (54-45)

It’s been one heck of a stretch for the Indians. Wednesday’s yet another high-volume performance was the third time that they scored 10 or more runs and fourth time they had 12 or more hits in their last six games. It’s not a coincidence that it was also their sixth consecutive win.

Five of the Tribe’s top six hitters in the past week are all hitting above .300. Though more known for his defensive skills, Michael Brantley is the guy that tops that list, as he has 10 hits, two homers, eight RBIs, and eight runs in his last 28 plate appearances. Francisco Lindor and Edwin Encarnacion are next on the register – the two combine to go 17-for-50 in that time frame.

The team’s starting pitcher duties for tomorrow will be given to Trevor Bauer. The season has been tough for the four-year veteran, who’s lucky to have a 8-8 record since he has an ugly 5.58 ERA.

Don’t expect a fantasy-friendly stat line from Bauer, but it’s probably nice that he hasn’t been blasted with a homer against any of the current Angels – the Halos 22-for-77 (.286) against him all-time.

Writer’s Prediction

They engage in a high-scoring affair, with the Indians winning a close one, 9-8.
