Manchester City maintained their perfect record in the league with a convincing 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Manchester United on Saturday. Kevin de Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winning goals for the Citizens, who moved to the top of the Premier League table with 12 points to their name. It was a morale-boosting result for City manager Pep Guardiola who emerged victorious from his first Premier League showdown with long-time adversary Jose Mourinho.

The Citizens will look to stretch their unbeaten run even further when they take on Bournemouth in a marquee Premier League clash this coming Saturday. For City to preserve their perfect start against the Cherries, they will need to continue their excellent play on the offensive end. They lead the league in scoring with 11 goals this season.

Spearheading the City attack is the talented de Bruyne. The Belgian star has been directly involved in 32 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens (17 goals, 15 assists). Also expected to contribute this weekend is the red-hot Iheanacho. He has scored nine goals from just 13 shots on target in the Premier League.

The Citizens are pegged at -110 to win the Premier League title this season.

Betting on Bournemouth (+940)

Bournemouth finally notched their first win of the season with a gritty 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. Callum Wilson scored a dramatic late winner for the Cherries, who leapfrogged to 14th in the Premier League table with four points to their name. It was Wilson’s first goal for almost a year, following a long six-month lay-off with a medial knee ligament injury.

Things are bound to get tougher, though, for Bournemouth as standing in their way in the next match are leaders Manchester City. The Citizens are unbeaten in their last two league matches against the Cherries. In fact, City outscored Bournemouth, 9-1, during that span. For Bournemouth to record a major shock this weekend, they will need to improve on their misfiring offense. They have scored just three goals in their first four games this season, tied for third-fewest in the entire Premier League.

The onus then is on Joshua King to start banging in the goals for Bournemouth. He finished last season as Bournemouth’s top scorer, scoring seven goals in all competitions. He has scored just once in the Premier League thus far this season.

The Cherries are pegged at +100,000 to capture the Premier League crown this season.
