Betting on the Miami Dolphins (3-5)
The Miami Dolphins will welcome having to face the Philadelphia Eagles up next, because they’ll settle for any other opponent outside of their own division at this point.
[sc:NFL240banner ]With the 33-17 loss to the Bills in Buffalo this Sunday, the Dolphins are now 0-4 against the AFC East this season, and have been outscored by their division rivals 137-52 in those contests.
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill had another polarizing outing, connecting on 27 of 36 passes for 309 efficient yards, but he failed to find the end zone in spite of those solid numbers. And while Tannehill didn’t throw an interception during the match, he did, however, fumble the ball twice and lost possession on one of those instances.
Even Miami running back Lamar Miller had an unconventional day against the Bills. Miller ended with just 44 rushing yards on 12 carries, but did find the end zone on a pair of one-yard TD runs, and did most of the damage in the passing game. He had had seven catches for a team-high 97 receiving yards.
In spite of the puzzling offensive outputs from Tannehill and Miller, the Dolphins still managed to gain 11 more first downs than the Bills on Sunday. The team just has to generate more points from the nice yardage they gain on offense.
Also, the ‘Fins better fix their run defense quick, as they allowed Buffalo to gash them for a staggering 260 rushing yards. Philadelphia’s backfield duo of DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews just torched the Cowboys for a combined 150 rushing yards on 29 carries this past Sunday, too, so Miami better have its front seven in top form in Week 10.
Miami is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games against NFC East opponents, with the total going under in all five of those contests.

Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (4-4)
It went tougher than expected, but the Philadelphia Eagles got back to the .500 mark with a 36-27 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Sam Bradford had an efficient night throwing the ball by putting up 295 yards on 25-of-36 passing, and with his lone TD throw going to wide receiver Jordan Matthews on the game-winning drive in OT. It was only the second time this season that Bradford finished with a QB rating of over 100, while Matthews finished with team-highs of nine receptions and 133 receiving yards.
But the spotlight was really on former Cowboys star running back DeMarco Murray, who played his first game in Dallas since being dealt to Philly in the offeseason. Murray relished the attention, doing everything on the ground (18 carries for 83 rushings yards and one TD) and through the air (six catches for 78 yards) against the team that made him a household name in the NFL.
However, the Eagles are still struggling to sustain their own drives and contain their own opponents’ drives just the same. The team converted just three of its 13 third down attempts, while Dallas managed to convert half of their 16 third downs.
Still, Philadelphia boasts the league’s most opportunistic defense to bail them out of tight spots (like Sunday’s game against Dallas itself) to rattle Miami’s enigmatic offense in Week 10. Linebacker Jordan Hicks came up with a crucial 67-yard pick-six off the Cowboys’ Matt Cassel on Sunday, giving his team 20 takeaways for the season – most in the NFL.
The Eagles have only lost one of their nine games played in November since the 2013 season. They’re also 8-1 against the spread in that same span.
Writer’s Prediction
Philly (-6.5) continues its winning ways with a convincing 27-16 win over the Dolphins.
