Minnesota Vikings vs Washington Redskins Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – NFL Week 10 2017

The Washington Redskins are the underdog for the eighth time in nine games this year. They were favored against San Francisco (and we know that means nothing) but fell well short of covering the -12 spread with a narrow 2-point win. Trends are working against the Redskins, as they have only covered once in its last six home games and are 1-5 against the spread in its previous six games. Minnesota on the other hand has history on its side, covering a literal three-dozen of its last 51 games.

Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (6-2)

Point Spread: (-1)

The Minnesota Vikings have had a really nice season so far this year, but now this is the hard part of their schedule, and they are going to need to have success in this part to make the playoffs. The Vikings currently have a 6-2 record and are just off the bye week so they should be nice and rested for this game.

The strength of this team is defense. They are currently only giving up 16.9 points per game which is third in the NFL. Mike Zimmer dials up some exotic blitz packages and it keeps opposing teams guessing. The Redskins offensive line is having all sorts of injuries problems, and I would look for Zimmer to really try and exploit that weakness early on.

On the offensive side of the ball the Vikings aren’t great, but they seem to be doing enough to keep the Vikings winning games. Although Teddy Bridgewater is expected to be activated this week, I would expect Case Keenum to get the start in this one. For the Vikings to win this game they need him to have a nice game, and not turn the ball over. If he doesn’t turn the ball over they should be able to win this game.

Betting on the Washington Redskins (4-4)

Point Spread: (+1)

On the other side of this match up is the Washington Redskins who have had a really up and down season, but they sit at 4-4 and can move above .500 with a win in this game.

They are coming into this game with off their biggest win of the season. They went to Seattle, one of the toughest places to play and won 17-14.

Kirk Cousins led a game winning drive with under two minutes left to go, and the defense stepped up big to win the game. That was a huge win because if they were to lose that game they would have had a three game losing streak coming into this game and the outlook of the season would be a lot different.

If the Redskins want to win this game though they need to figure out a way to get through the tough defense. Kirk Cousins is probably going to need to get the ball out fast. and not turn the ball over. The offensive line is going to need to step up, and make sure to not let the Vikings defense walk all over them.

Writer’s Prediction:

This game is going to come down to the defensive side of the ball, and I think the Vikings have the advantage on that side of the ball. They are going to get to Kirk Cousins early and make life very difficult on them, The Vikings will win, and cover the spread. Pick: Vikings (-1.5)
