The New York Jets are still searching for their first win of the season, and seeing the Seattle Seahawks get upset last week should at least give Sam Darnold and company a bit of encouragement. Will the Jets pull off a win at the expense of the Seahawks? Or will Russell Wilson show the Jets the vast gap between a great team and an immensely poor squad?

Betting on the New York Jets (+13.5)
Regular Season Record: 0-12
The Jets fired defensive coordinator Gregg Williams after what’s generally perceived as one of the most foolish play calls in recent memory that led to a late-game touchdown by Las Vegas Raiders rookie Henry Ruggs in New York’s 31-28 home loss last Sunday to Derek Carr and company. If anything, sacking Williams proved that the Jets aren’t trying to tank, so expect them to still press on the gas pedal when they meet Seattle this coming weekend. The Jets may be losing a bunch of games, but they are doing relatively better against the spread, especially of late. The Jets are 3-1 against the spread in their last four games, three of which had the total hitting the over. Frank Gore suffered a concussion in the Raiders game so he might not be available to play in Week 14, though the Jets have Ty Johnson, who led them with 104 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 carries against the Raiders.
The under is 3-1 in the Jets’ last four road games.
Betting on the Seattle Seahawks (-13.5)
Regular Season Record: 8-4
The Seahawks got ambushed at home last Sunday by the New York Giants, as they lost to Colt McCoy and company in Week 14, 17-12. It was an especially frustrating loss for the Seahawks, considering that they lost to a Giants team that’s way under .500 and the fact that they were playing at their home turf. Russell Wilson went just 27 of 43 for 263 yards and a touchdown with an interception, while also taking five sacks for a loss of 47 yards. However, a date with the poor Jets seems like the perfect opportunity to rebound, as New York is simply the league’s punching bag right now. Wilson should be able to carve up the Jets’ defense that is 31st in the league with 291.0 passing yards allowed and worst with an opposing pass completion percentage of 70.55.
The Seahawks are 4-2 against the spread in their last six home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Seahawks win, 37-20.
