Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (+3)
Regular Season Record: 10-7
The Niners closed out their regular-season schedule on a high note, as they defeated the Los Angeles Rams on the road in Week 18 to the tune of a 17-24 score. Jimmy Garoppolo went 23/32 for 316 passing yards and a touchdown but had two interceptions. Brandon Aiyuk posted 107 receiving yards on just six catches, while Deebo Samuel had 95 receiving yards on four receptions. Garoppolois not 100 percent over a thumb injury in his throwing hand, so the Niners could be in line to increase the workload of their rushing attack against the Cowboys’ stingy pass defense. Elijah Mitchell leads the 49ers’ ground attack, as he finished the regular season with 963 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 207 carries. Samuel has also emerged as a versatile threat, having deal damage to opponents via passing and rushing plays. He has second on the team with 365 rushing yards and eight rushing scores.
The 49ers are 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 games after recording over 250 yards passing in their previous outing.
Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (-3)
Regular Season Record: 12-5
The Cowboys are coming off a 51-26 demolition of the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in Week 18 on the road. Dak Prescott absolutely showed he is ready for the playoffs in that game, as he passed for 295 yards and five touchdowns without an interception on 21/27 completions. Running back Ezekiel Elliott also rushed for 87 yards on 18 carries. The Cowboys have the offense to bend and break San Francisco’s defense. After all, Dallas owns the top-scoring attack in the NFL, with 31.2 points per game. The Cowboys are also no. 1 in total offense with 407 total yards per contest. Defensively, the Cowboys have two studs in Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs, who leads the NFL with 11 interceptions. As a team, Dallas is third with opponents completing just 59.48 percent of pass attempts.
The Cowboys are 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 games as a favorite.
