Betting on the Seton Hall Pirates (19-10, 9-8 Big East)

Point Spread: +8.5

A win here could save Seton Hall from sweating come Selection Sunday. This seems unlikely to happen, though, as the Pirates are terrible on the road this season. They lost their first five road games in conference play, until finally getting one over Georgetown and then against an inferior DePaul team.

The Pirates also fell at home to Butler in the most recent meeting, 61-54. They struggled offensively there, shooting just 28.6 percent from the field, including 4-of-24 from the three-point area. Angel Delgado’s 12-point, 22-rebound output kept them in the game, but it wasn’t enough as Seton Hall’s leading scorers—Khadeen Harrington (17.0 PPG) and Desi Rodgriguez (16.0PPG)—were held to 12 points apiece.

Harrington and Rodriguez average at least 16 points per contest this season. However, they’re still trying to figure out how to play consistently. And whenever those two go quiet, things usually turn ugly for Seton Hall, which is 4-6 SU and ATS in its last 10 games away from home.

Betting on the Butler Bulldogs (23-6, 12-5 Big East)

Point Spread: -8.5

No. 13 Butler’s won four in a row—3-1 ATS— heading into this rematch, which includes back-to-back wins over No.2 Villanova and Xavier.

The offense has been clicking for the Bulldogs, who have put up no less than 74 points each in their current four-game run. Kelan Martin’s been leading the way despite coming off the bench, averaging 20.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. He was held, though, to just 10 points on 2-of-10 shooting in the first meeting with the Pirates this season.

Butler is also scary on the other end of the court. The team isn’t exactly one of the best in country defensively, but it has played well and smart enough to win. The Bulldogs are holding opponents to 68.6 points per game.
