Betting on the Stanford Cardinal (15-13, 8-9 Pac-12)
The Stanford Cardinal had their two-game winning streak snapped on Thursday with a shocking 74-64 defeat to unheralded Arizona State. The Cardinal simply had no answer for Savon Goodman and Eric Jacobsen who combined for 29 points and 14 boards. It was a costly defeat for the Cardinal who dropped down to 10th in the Pac-12 standings.
It won’t get any easier for the Cardinal in their final regular-season game as standing in their way this coming Saturday are the Arizona Wildcats. The Cardinal have lost their last 12 meetings with the Wildcats. For the Cardinal to reverse that trend and pull off the shock victory against Arizona, they will need to improve on their effort on the offensive glass. Arizona State outscored Stanford, 16-0, in second-chance points as the Sun Devils collected a whopping 15 offensive rebounds. That kind of performance simply won’t do against an Arizona side that’s averaging 40.5 boards per game this season, 19th in the entire nation.Apart from their rebounding, the Cardinal will also need to work on their turnovers. Stanford committed 15 errors on Thursday, 10 of which came in the first half. That proved to be costly for the Cardinal as Arizona State scored 18 points off those miscues in the opening half.
Stanford is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 road games.

Betting on the Arizona Wildcats (23-7, 11-6 Pac-12)
The Arizona Wildcats finally snapped their two-game losing skid with a nerve-wracking 64-61 victory over California on Thursday night. Gabe York rebounded from his poor performances against Colorado and Utah, scoring 19 second-half points, including the game-winning three-pointer with 20 seconds left. It was a stunning comeback by the Wildcats who scored the game’s final 11 points.
They will look to make it back-to-back wins when they lock horns with Stanford this coming Saturday. For the Wildcats to pull off the victory this weekend, it’s crucial that they improve on their play on the offensive end. Arizona scored just 64 points in its last two games, its fewest in Pac-12 play this season.
That being said, they will be licking their chops at the prospect of facing a Stanford defense that’s allowing 68.6 points per game this season, 96th in the entire nation. Expected to lead Arizona’s attack this weekend are Ryan Anderson and Kaleb Tarczewski. Arizona’s frontcourt duo combined for 28 points and 22 rebounds in the win against California.
Arizona is 5-5 ATS in its last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Arizona pummels Stanford, 85-63.
