Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Baltimore Ravens Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Betting Preview – NFL Week 15 – December 16 2018

The Baltimore Ravens (+4,500 to win Super Bowl 53) are still in the playoff picture in the AFC with a 7-6 record, but they are in a very precarious spot right now, as a loss could see them fall off from it. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, meanwhile, are 5-8, but are keeping their fingers crossed in hopes that they would be able to benefit from a series of miracles to get in the playoffs. Going into this Sunday, the sportsbook favors the home team by 8-points.

Betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-8)

The Buccaneers were doing an excellent job in containing the New Orleans Saints at home last week until the real Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed in the second half. After coming out of the halftime break with a 14-3 lead, the Bucs started to crumble with their offensive line and defense imploding at the same time in a 28-14 home loss. The Bucs have enough firepower in their passing attack, with Jameis Winston at quarterback and the trio of Mike Evans, Adam Humphries, and Chris Godwin downfield, but the offensive line has to do a better job of buying Winston more time. Winston was sacked four times for a loss of 39 yards in the Saints game. He’s now been sacked eight times in the last two Bucs outings. Still, the Bucs have a dangerous offense that ranks 10th in scoring with 25.5 points per game and second in total yards per contest with 430.1.

On the road so far this season, Tampa Bay is 1-5 straight up (SU) and 2-3-1 against the spread (ATS).

Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (7-6)

Rookie Lamar Jackson has been tabbed once again to start under center for the Ravens despite veteran quarterback Joe Flacco being cleared to play again after dealing with a hip injury. The decision to stick with the first-year QB is evidence of how much Baltimore has liked Jackson’s performance in lieu of Flacco. Although the Ravens lost last week to the Kansas City Chiefs on the road, 27-24,  they probably want to ride the momentum Jackson is having. The former Louisville Cardinals star passed for 147 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions against the Chiefs. He also added 71 rushing yards on 13 carries to lead Baltimore. Jackson could have another big game this weekend, as the Bucs have a punching bag defense that ranks 30th with 29.5 points allowed per game. Jackson should have plenty of room to pass and run in that kind of a defensive setting.

The Ravens are 3-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last three games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Baltimore wins the game but doesn’t cover, 29-23.
