In Tom Brady, the Bucs trust. Brady repaid that trust by leading Tampa Bay to a come-from-behind 31-27 road win over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. Brady finished the game with 390 passing yards and two touchdowns on 31-of-45 completions. Mike Evans and Antonio Brown were Brady’s most lethal weapons in the game. Those two field-stretchers are going to be a problem for the Lions, whose defense is last in the NFL with 31.1 points allowed per game. The Lions’ secondary struggled mightily in containing the Tennessee Titans’ pass attack in Week 15, and with Evans, Brown, Chris Godwin, and Rob Gronkowski coming to Motor Town, this could end turn ugly quickly for the Lions’ stop unit. Then there’s the Lions’ poor run defense that is 29th overall, with 137.3 rushing yards allowed per contest, and will be highly vulnerable against Leonard Fournette, who had two rushing scores in Week 15.

The Buccaneers are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 road games.

Betting on the Detroit Lions (+8.5)

Regular Season Record: 5-9

Despite not feeling 100 percent and the Lions virtually out of playoff contention, Matthew Stafford went ahead and played in Week 15 at home against the Tennessee Titans. But the results were not so good, as the Lions took a 46-25 loss, thus eliminating them out of the postseason picture. Stafford finished with 252 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 22-of-32 completions. Another bright spot for the Lions is the play of rookie running back D’Andre Swift. He had 67 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries against the Titans. Swift now has three touchdowns in the last two games. Stafford is still capable enough to spread out the field for the Lions’ rushing attack to find gaps on opposing defenses to burst through. After all, the Lions are seventh in the NFL with 264.5 passing yards per contest.

The over is 8-2 in the Lions’ last 10 games at home.
