Betting on the Tennessee Titans (+3)
Regular Season Record: 7-3
The Titans outlasted the Baltimore Ravens in a 30-24 overtime win at home in Week 11 to rebound from their 34-17 loss to Indianapolis, also in Tennessee, back in Week 10. Derrick Henry munched on the Ravens’ defense, as he finished with 133 rushing yards and a touchdown on 28 carries. Henry has established himself as arguably the most unstoppable individual on the football field, and the Colts should know this. In the loss to the Colts, Henry picked up 103 rushing yards on 19 carries. The Colts have a stout defense against the run, but that’s something that can be thrown out the window when Henry is playing. Tennessee’s offense is ninth in the NFL so far this season with 27.9 points per game and 10th with 379.4 total yards per contest.
The over is 2-0 in the Titans’ last two games.
Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (-3)
Regular Season Record: 7-3
The Colts followed up their earlier win over Tennessee with another huge victory, as they defeated the Green Bay Packers via overtime last Sunday, 34-31. Philip Rivers went 24 of 36 for 288 passing yards and three touchdowns with an interception in that game, while the Colts’ backfield came away with 140 rushing yards on 37 carries. Speaking of which, the Colts’ run game could be front and center of the team’s offense again against Tennessee. In Week 10, the Colts saw running back Nyheim Hines rush for 70 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries, but the depth of the team’s offense could keep Tennessee’s defense guessing. In the Packers game, the Colts went back to rookie tailback Jonathan Taylor for most of the duties on the ground, as he rushed for 90 yards on 22 carries. The Colts, who are scoring 27.6 points per game, can have success against Tennessee’s defense that’s last in the league in opponents’ third-down conversion percentage (53.96).
The Colts are 4-2 against the spread in their last six home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Colts win, 27-23.
