Betting on the Washington Football Team (odds)
Regular Season Record: 6-8
Washington has seemingly cooled off. After winning four games in a row, the Football Team have lost two straight. They got defeated by Dallas at home in Week 14, 27-20, and then to the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in Week 15, 27-17. Washington didn’t have Taylor Heinicke under center in the Eagles game, as the quarterback hit the COVID-19 list. Instead, the Football Team started Garrett Gilbert, who had a bland performance against the Eagles, passing for just 194 yards with zero touchdowns and no interceptions on 20/31 completions. There’s a chance Heinicke will return in time for the rematch against Dallas. He went 11/25 for 122 yards and a touchdown and interception in the first meeting with the Cowboys, while Washington’s defense had two interceptions and four sacks on Dak Prescott.
Washington is 7-2 ATS in its last 9 games in Week 16.
Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (odds)
Regular Season Record: 10-4
First of all, the Cowboys will have a much longer rest than Washington when these two teams meet on Sunday. The Football Team had a game Tuesday, giving them a shorter time to recover. Dallas played last Sunday and scored a dominant 21-6 road win over the New York Giants. Prescott went 28/37 for 217 yards and a touchdown while running back Tony Pollard led the ground attack with 74 rushing yards on 12 carries. Michah Parsons will look to wreak havoc again against Washington. In the first meeting with the Football Team, Parsons had two of Dallas’ four sacks. Dallas’ pass defense is licking its chops as well. The Cowboys are tops in the NFL in defensive interception rate.
The Cowboys are 4-0 against the spread versus a team with a losing record.
Writer’s Prediction
The Cowboys win, 28-17.
