Weekly Sports GIF Round-up – January 27

It’s a hoops dominated edition of the Round-up, starring the Knicks circus, the defending champs, a special cameo from a high-flying, mean-mugging First Lady.

Weekly Sports GIF and Highlight Roundup

Air FLOTUS

Ladies and gentlemen, the First Lady of the United States. Also, the early frontrunner for 2014 GIF of the year. Score another million for democracy.

LeBron’s Turn

Not to be outdone by FLOTUS, LeBron had one of his trademark monster dunks against the Lakers. Now that’s a mean mug.

SMH -Melo

It was a pretty eventful week for soap opera known as the New York Knickerbockers.

Last Monday, they lost to the Brooklyn Nets, playing the type of defense that did not impress renowned defender Carmelo Anthony one bit. SMH indeed.

Tim Legler: Basketball Analyst/Artist

And to add insult to injury, ESPN analyst/aspiring graphic artist Tim Legler felt it necessary to telestrate Melo’s pain in more graphic (and comic) detail.

Down Goes Bargs

Speaking of insult to injury, the Knicks lost Andrea Bargnani to an elbow injury in their following game against the 76ers after Bargs fell awkwardly from a rather insulting (to the TWO Sixers defenders) dunk attempt.

62!

But the week still ended on a high in New York, as Melo broke Kobe Bryant’s Madison Square Garden scoring record with a career-high 62 points against the Charlotte Bobcats. In case you missed it, here’s every single point compressed into three glorious minutes.

360, Part 2

Switching gears to non-NBA basketball news, Oklahoma State’s Markel Brown did his best Paul George imitation with a spectacular 360 degree dunk of his own.

Will it now get the same animation treatment George’s dunk?

Bad Lip Reading

The NFL season is just one game away from its conclusion. Re-live some choice cuts from 2013 again, this time with incredibly hilarious lip-reading interpretations.

Buzzer Beater!

As our time this week slowly runs out, we sign off from the Euroleague, with one heck of a buzzer-beating game-winner care of former NBA player Zoran Planinic. (In case you didn’t hear, he called glass in Croatian.)
