Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Chargers Predictions, Picks, Odds, and Betting Preview – Week 12 – November 25, 2018

Realistically speaking, the Arizona Cardinals are not going anywhere this season. With a 2-8 ledger, the Cardinals are bound to miss the boat to the postseason, but they have a chance to hurt the feelings of one team that’s likely to play beyond Week 17 in the Los Angeles Chargers this coming weekend on the road.

The Cardinals are priced +100,000 to top the NFC, while the Chargers are +1,800 to win Super Bowl 53.

Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (2-8)

Mistakes are dooming the Cardinals on a constant basis this season. That problem resurfaced again last week during their 23-21 loss to the Oakland Raiders at home. In that game, rookie quarterback Josh Rosen went feast and famine, passing for 136 yards with three touchdowns on 9-of-20 completions with two interceptions.  The Cardinals have a very winnable game against the also-struggling Oakland squad, which is why their loss to the Raiders was a bitter pill to swallow. Having said that, the Cardinals can’t do anything but try to bounce back. The Chargers are good enough to be playoff team this season, and if Arizona is going to have a chance at taking Los Angeles down, they’ll have to clean up on their backbreaking errors. Maybe feeling the ball as often as they can to running back David Johnson is the answer. Johnson is still among the best and most talented playmakers in the game today, as he further showed by rushing for 137 yards on 25 carries against Oakland. Johnson has now rushed for at least 98 yards on a minimum of 21 carries in each of the Cards’ last two games.

The Cardinals are 2-0-1 ATS in their last three road games.

Betting on the Los Angeles Chargers (7-3)

The Chargers saw their lengthy six-game win streak get snapped last week, when they absorbed a 23-22 home loss to the Denver Broncos. Penalties hurt the Chargers probably more than any other factor in that contest. They committed a total of 14 penalties for 120 yards, compared to just seven infractions for 43 yards by Denver.  This has been among the few holes on the Chargers’ game this season. They are committing 7.7 penalties per game, third most in the NFL, so they should be able to cut down on that. In any case, the Chargers’ offense can flummox any given opponent, thanks in large part to the vintage play of quarterback Philip Rivers. The 36-year-old gunslinger passed for 401 yards and two touchdowns on 28-of-43 completions against the Broncos. He had two interceptions, but he may not have to worry much about that getting picked this Sunday again, as the Cardinals only has six interceptions to show thus far this season.

The under is 2-0 in the Chargers’ last two home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Chargers win and cover, 29-17.
