The Minnesota Vikings are putting it all together now. They have momentum on their side and a quarterback who has recovered his moxie. However, the Vikings can’t sleep on the Detroit Lions. Detroit just gave Aaron Rodgers and company a run for their own money, and they are very much capable of stopping the Vikings’ winning streak.

Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (4-2)
Kirk Cousins is finally playing like he actually deserves the rich contract he signed with the Vikings. In Week 6, Cousins passed fro 333 yards and four touchdowns against just an interception on 22-of-29 completions in a 38-20 home win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Prior to that, Cousins threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns without a pick in the win over the New York Giants on the road. Perhaps more importantly, he is on the same page again with arguably the best wideout tandem in the NFL, as Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs have combined for six touchdowns in the last two games. That spells trouble for the Lions’ defense that is only 28th in the league against the pass and was gutted by a number of B-list wide receivers in last Monday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The Vikings are 3-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last three games against Detroit.
Betting on the Detroit Lions (2-2-1)
Almost, but not quite. That was the Lions’ story last Monday, when they were narrowly edged out by the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, 23-22. Wide receiver Kenny Golladay remarked following the game that the Lions should learn how to finish plays. Against the Packets, the Lions were only 3 of 13 on third downs and 1 of 3 in the red zone. On the season, the Lions are 20th with a 35.29 third-down conversion percentage and 21st in red zone touchdown scoring percentage (50.0%). The Lions have the talent to break down any opposing defense, as evidenced by their 13th-ranked average of 369.8 total yards per game. Golladay is a big receiver who can win catches over the best cornerbacks and he’s lined up across a talented veteran in Marvin Jones. Kerryon Johnson can also catch too. It all boils down to Detroit finding a way to convert yards into points outside of those produced by Matt Prater’s legs.
The Lions are 2-0 ATS in their last two home games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Lions win, 24-21.
