Kansas Jayhawks vs. Baylor Bears (1:00 PM ET)
Line: Kansas Jayhawks (+1.5) at Baylor Bears (-1.5) – view all NCAA basketball lines
With a win this Saturday, No. 3 Kansas can virtually clinch its 13th-straight conference title. The Jayhawks are in prime form entering the contest, having a three-game win streak and five victories over their last six, which includes a home win over No. 4 Baylor on February 1.
Speaking of Baylor, the Bears couldn’t have lost at a worst time, as they fell to the unranked Texas Tech Raiders on Monday, 84-78. With dampened spirits from that defeat, we expect the Jayhawks to capitalize on this fact and extend their current nine-game win streak over the Bears (7-2 ATS) to a 10th-consecutive contest.
Writer’s Prediction
Kansas (+1.5) remains the top dog of the Big 12, 83-71.
Virginia Cavaliers vs. North Carolina Tar Heels (8:15 PM ET)
Line: Virginia Cavaliers (+4.5) at North Carolina Tar Heels (-4.5) – view all NCAA basketball lines
Over in the ACC, neither No. 14 Virginia nor No. 10 UNC are entering Saturday’s clash with momentum, as both teams suffered crucial loses to No. 12 Duke this past week.
The Cavaliers have now been defeated in three-straight road contests, but they’ve hung around well enough in those games, losing by a just a combined eight points. However, UNC bounced back with an encouraging 97-73 win over NC State on Wednesday after the loss to Duke, whereas UVA is fresh of its 10-point defeat to the Blue Devils that same day.
Further working against the Hoos is the fact that the Tar Heels have won eight-straight games in Chapel Hill (6-2 ATS), which means North Carolina will likely hold onto the top spot of the Atlantic Conference for the time being.
Writer’s Prediction
The Tar Heels edge past the Cavaliers, 83-76; just enough to cover the -4.5 spread.
