Chicago Bears vs New Orleans Saints Predictions, Picks, Odds and Betting Preview – NFL Week 8 2017

The New Orleans Saints opened as 8-point chalk and were promptly bet up to -9 at the sportsbook. However, the Chicago Bears are proving to be lucrative for underdog bettors. Chicago is on a two-game winning streak and as of Week 8 they are 5-2 against the spread (ATS). In their last four games, the Saints are 4-0 straight up and against the spread. New Orleans is also 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against squads with losing records.

Betting on the Chicago Bears (3-4)

Point Spread: (+9)

With a new quarterback under center with zero experience in the big leagues, the Chicago Bears are finding new ways to score to help the rookie out. Chicago went into their Week 7 matchup against the Carolina Panthers being 17 point underdogs, but that did not mess with their minds one bit as they shut down quarterback Cam Newton.

With a rookie quarterback under center the Bears did the impossible and scored both of their touchdowns from turnovers. Thanks to a pick six and a fumble scoop and score, the Chicago Bears defense was playing on a whole new level.

They were entertaining to watch, but still need to work on their offense as they only totaled less than 250 yards on the whole day. Mitch only threw the ball seven times. With the defense doing all of the work this past Sunday, it is going to be hard to stop the Saints as the offense must step up, especially the running game.

Betting on the New Orleans Saints (4-2)

Point Spread: (-9)

The New Orleans Saints opened up the new football season with dropping their first two games as the defense and new running game was shut down early. It looked like a lost season already, but head coach Sean Payton has turned this team around. Since that horrible start to the season, the Saints have won four straight games including huge wins over the Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions.

The offense is alive and ready to roll, as veteran quarterback Drew Brees is showing why he still has some left in the tank. In their 26-17 win against the Packers, Brees completed 27 of his 38 passes for 3331 yards and a touchdown. The running game was also on top of its own game.

Both running backs Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara finished the day with 162 total rushing yards and one touchdown. Are the Saints ready to compete once again?

Writer’s Prediction:

Chicago has been getting pretty lucky with their defense and poor opposing quarterback performances, but Drew Brees does not make those mistakes often. This is the game where everyone will take notice of the New Orleans Saints. Pick: New Orleans (-9)
