Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (15-12, 8-8 SEC)

The Georgia Bulldogs finally snapped their three-game losing skid with a convincing 80-66 victory over Ole Miss on Tuesday night. J.J. Frazier and Kenny Gaines combined for 49 points to lead the Bulldogs to their 18th win this season. They were sizzling from beyond the arc, hitting 10 of their 18 three-pointers against the Rebels.

Things are bound to get tougher for the Bulldogs as standing in their way tonight are the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Gamecocks have been exceptional at home this season, posting an incredible 15-1 record. That’s a major concern for the Bulldogs who are just 2-8 on the road this campaign.

For the Bulldogs to reverse that trend and pull off the victory tonight, they will need to step up their play on the defensive end. The Bulldogs are allowing an average of 83.6 points over their last five road defeats. That kind of defense simply won’t do against a South Carolina side that’s averaging 76.4 points per game this season, 102nd in the entire nation.

The Bulldogs are 5-3 ATS in their last eight road games.

Betting on the South Carolina Gamecocks (23-6, 10-6 SEC)

Georgia vs South Carolina Basketball Predictions – March 2016

The South Carolina Gamecocks had their two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with a shocking 68-58 defeat to the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Gamecocks simply had no answer for Mississippi State’s pressure defense which saw the Bulldogs record a season-high 13 steals. It was a costly defeat for the Gamecocks who dropped down to fifth in the SEC standings.

They will look to get their season back on track when they take on the Georgia Bulldogs tonight. For the Gamecocks to accomplish that feat, they will need leading scorer Michael Carrera to step up his play. He struggled mightily in the game against Mississippi State, scoring just six points on 1-of-8 shooting from the field. That’s way below his 14.8 PPG scoring average.

Carrera will need to be at his best, though, against Georgia who will surely put defensive specialist Kenny Gaines against him tonight. Gaines displayed his defensive prowess in Georgia’s last game against Ole Miss, holding SEC’s leading scorer Stefan Moody to just 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the floor.

The Gamecocks are 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games.

Writer’s Prediction

South Carolina (-6.5) wins, 72-63.
