Two NFC West teams coming off disastrous losses will lock horns this Sunday in Glendale, as the San Francisco 49ers take on the also struggling Arizona Cardinals. According to the sportsbook, the 49ers are +50,000 to pull off a miracle and win the NFC West. The Cardinals, on the other hand, are priced +10,000 to pull off a bigger miracle, which is to overtake the 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams to win the division.

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (1-6)
For a team that lost both its original starting quarterback and running back for the entire season, the 49ers seem do be doing just fine in some games even in those that ended up in losses. But they definitely felt how much they miss Jimmy Garoppolo and Jerick McKinnon in last week’s landslide 39-10 loss at home to the Los Angeles Rams. The difference between the two teams’ level of talent couldn’t have been any starker, but at least the Niners are going to play next the Cardinals, whose players’ calibers do not stray too far from that of San Francisco’s. What the 49ers need to do to win games is to take care of the pigskin better. They are last in the league with a 2.1 turnover margin per game. They are committing 2.6 turnovers per contest, but perhaps San Francisco can cut down on its errors against the Cardinals, whose defense can be porous in most moments.
The 49ers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games.
Betting on the Arizona Cardinals (1-6)
Like the 49ers, the Cardinals received a thorough pounding in Week 7, losing to the Denver Broncos at home, 45-10. Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen looked far from being ready to take the team to new heights, as he threw for just 194 yards and a touchdown against three interceptions on 21-of-29 completions. That said, any quarterback will have a tough time doing anything good under center when his offensive line is wack. Against Denver Rosen was sacked six times for a loss of 40 yards. However, Rosen is likely going to have a bigger breathing room this Sunday, as the 49ers only have 13 sacks this season. Running back David Johnson need to show some life, too, after he rushed for only 39 yards on 14 carries for a pathetic 2.8 rushing yards per attempt average.
The Cardinals are 2-1 ATS in their last three home games.
Writer’s Prediction
San Francisco wins, 24-21.
