NFL Expert Picks Week 11 – 2014/2015 Season

Win big on the Jets last week? The Steelers, led by a red-hot Ben Roethlisberger, seemed like a virtual lock against the New York Jets who were in the midst of an eight-game losing streak, but Michael Vick showed vintage form and led the J-E-T-S’ bettors to one of the biggest moneyline payouts of the year.

If the day did not see you on the Jets, no sweat, there is a full, sweet slate of NFL lines ready for your attention. To get you set for the action, we’ve compiled some of the best experts’ picks from around the web to help you in making your picks.

We discuss the most notable picks below, but for more detailed breakdowns of each game check out our NFL section or our previews for the Seattle Seahawks vs. Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants games.

[sc:NFL240banner ]Aaron Rodgers had six touchdown passes in the first half alone in the Packers’ 55-14 rout of the Chicago Bears on Sunday, tying Daryle Lamonica’s record for most touchdowns in a half set in 1969. Rodgers now faces one of his biggest tests this season in the Philadelphia Eagles’ pass defense, which the experts from CBS Sports predict he will pass with flying colors. Four out of their five experts have the Packers covering a 6.5-point spread.

Still, if there’s a team which can cool down Rodgers, it may well be the Eagles. The Eagles’ pass defense has been excellent over the past two games, allowing less than 400 yards while grabbing four interceptions. The pass rush has also been at its best in the two games with 13 sacks, led by linebacker Connor Barwin’s 4.5.

Nevertheless, the Packers are tough to beat, especially at home. They have won all four of their home games and are undefeated against the spread (3-0-1 ATS) this season.

Think Rodgers shows another impressive performance? Take the Packers at -6 now and cash in on one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today. Need more info to back up your pick? Read our complete preview of this game here.

Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady

There’s going to be a shootout at Lucas Oil Stadium between two of the AFC’s hottest quarterbacks. New England’s Tom Brady went 33 for 53 for 333 yards and four touchdowns against one pick as he outdueled Peyton Manning in Week 9. Brady doesn’t figure to slow down against the Colts, passing for 529 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games against Indianapolis over the last two seasons.

Bleacher Report believes the Patriots should be able to extend their win streak over the Colts as quarterback Andrew Luck has seven interceptions and a 58.2 passer rating (his lowest among teams he’s faced more than once) in his two games against New England. However, the Luck of today has looked virtually unstoppable. He has 21 touchdowns, six interceptions and an average of 363.3 yards in his last seven games.

The Colts have won their last three home games with a total margin of victory of 58 points.

The Saints can be beaten at home after all. They fell to the San Francisco, 27-24, at the Superdome on Sunday. Drew Brees threw two interceptions and was strip sacked in overtime, setting up San Francisco’s game-winning field goal. While FOX Sports doesn’t believe the Saints will lose this impending matchup, they do believe that the Bengals have the tools to keep this close.

Brees will face one of the league leaders in interceptions (10) in the Bengals. However, don’t expect Brees to be under too much pressure against Cincinnati’s pass rush (13 sacks this season), which should give him some time to throw bombs at Cincinnati’s pass defense. The Bengals allowed 344 passing yards and two touchdowns in their last road game, a 27-0 annihilation at the hands of Indianapolis.

Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, who had a horrific game on Thursday night against the Browns where he completed just 30 percent of his passes and served up three interceptions, has 10 days to bounce back and prepare for New Orleans’ questionable pass defense.

The Saints have allowed 259 passing yards per game, which could set up Bengals receivers A.J. Green (381 yards and three touchdowns) and Mohammed Sanu (648 yards and four touchdowns) for some big plays.

With both teams fielding questionable pass defenses, the total looks good to go over 50.5. For more on this game, check out our complete preview here.
